Follow this fried tofu recipe and you will get the perfectly fried tofu. Perfect crispy crust on the outside and a chewy texture on the inside. This recipe is very easy to follow and needs very little work. It’s perfect for the busy person who has very little time on had. This fried tofu can be added to curries, sauteed veggies, served along with rice or eaten by itself. Sprinkle a little salt on it and you have a powerful and satisfying snack on hand for cranky toddlers.

Ingredients:

  • 1 block (14oz/400g) tofu

  • 3 tbsp avocado oil

Fried Tofu

Directions:

  1. Cut tofu into slices about 1cm/0.5 in thick. Press for at least 10 minutes the get rid of most liquid.

  2. Heat oil in an iron skillet over medium/low heat

  3. Once hot add the tofu slices to the skillet and let it fry for 10 minutes.

  4. Flip the tofu and let it fry for another 10 minutes. (if tofu is golden brown and crispy on both sides, its ready. If its still white and raw looking, let it fry for few more minutes longer.)

  5. Remove for pan and place on a plate layer with a paper towel to absorb extra oil.

  6. Sprinkle with salt.

  7. Enjoy like that or cut into desired sized cubes and serve with rice, sauteed veggies or with curry.
